US President Donald Trump, speaking with journalists aboard the plane en route to Israel, stated that he does not rule out supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles, after discussing this issue with Russia. 'Yes, I could tell him (Putin) that if the war is not ended, we might very well do it,' said Trump. 'We may not do it, but we can do it... Do they want Tomahawks flying in their direction? I don't think so.'
According to the US president, Russia should agree to a peaceful settlement, as they do not need Tomahawk supplies to Ukraine, since it would be a 'new level of escalation,' and for Putin, it could 'end badly.'
As noted by Politico, the day before, Trump stated that the United States would not sell missiles to Ukraine directly, but would provide them to NATO, which could then transfer them to the Ukrainians.
