According to the director of Danish military intelligence, Russia's main goal is to shift the boundary of NATO's collective defense treaty application

In Belgium, 15 drones were spotted over the Elsenborn military base at night, reported VRT NWS citing sources. According to journalists, the drones circled over the facility and then flew to Germany. There, they were detected by the police in the city of Düren, who then passed the information to the Belgian Ministry of Defense.

Where the drones came from and who operated them is unclear. The Ministry of Defense is investigating the incident, confirmed journalists in the office of Defense Minister Theo Francken.

It was previously reported that on the night from Thursday to Friday, Munich airport suspended operations for several hours due to drones. As a result, 17 flights could not depart from Munich, affecting 3,000 passengers. Another 15 incoming flights were redirected to alternate airports.

In recent weeks, drones have been spotted in Denmark, Germany, Sweden, and Norway, and now Belgium has been added to these countries.

Meanwhile, Denmark accused Russia of waging hybrid warfare. The director of the Military Intelligence Service, Thomas Arenkiel, stated at a press conference in Copenhagen that the main goal of these attacks is to create uncertainty. «Russia wants us to believe in the inevitability of the threat of war», — Arenkiel believes.

In his opinion, Russia's main goal is to shift the boundary of NATO's collective defense treaty application. «Russia is not interested in starting a real war against us. But when it comes to hybrid threats, the line between what constitutes an attack and what does not gradually blurs», — stated Arenkiel.

Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen believes that hybrid attacks on Europe will continue, and the next attack on Denmark may not be UAVs, but a cyberattack.
