2025.10.01

He was accused of participating in a terrorist community and training for terrorist activities

The Southern District Military Court sentenced 33-year-old native of Zaporizhzhia, Dmytro Remez, to 18 years in a high-security colony for participating in a terrorist community and training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities, reported 'Mediazona'* in the court's press service.

On May 15, 2025, Remez was added to the list of 'terrorists and extremists' by Rosinformonitoring.

Until 2017, Remez served as a police officer in the Zaporizhzhia region. He then served in the Ukrainian battalion 'Azov', which was recognized as a 'terrorist' organization in Russia in August 2022.

The War Tears website states that Remez was in Russian captivity, thus he was under the protection of the Geneva Convention. And the 'terrorist activity training' was actually an army training course.

* Recognized as a 'foreign agent' in Russia.
