The Dubna City Court of the Moscow Region fined a local resident 300 thousand rubles in a case involving two donations to the Anti-Corruption Foundation totaling 1000 rubles, writes «Mediazona»*. The Dubna court's ruling states that when imposing the penalty, the court took into account mitigating circumstances — in particular, the defendant's elderly age and health issues, as well as «charitable activities» and «awards and honors for services to the Fatherland».

The decision on his case was announced back on July 25, but the details of the verdict became known only in September.

According to the investigation, the convicted person made two transfers of 500 rubles each to a foreign FBK account after it was recognized as an extremist organization. Moreover, the criminal case was initiated after a letter «from the 4th Service of the FSB UZKS» marked «secret», which mentioned his «possible involvement» in financing the foundation.

The text of the decision mentions the email address kazakovdi@mail.ru, which is claimed to belong to the convicted person. The ruling states that a letter requesting a donation to FBK was previously sent to this email address.

Search engines, when queried with this address, refer to pages mentioning the 73-year-old Russian physicist Dmitry Kazakov — a specialist in the field of quantum field theory and elementary particle physics, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the author of more than 200 scientific papers. Since 2017, Kazakov has also been the director of the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
