Volodymyr Zelensky stated in his speech at the UN General Assembly that at present there are no security guarantees for any country. «International law does not work in full if you do not have influential friends or weapons», — he noted.
The President of Ukraine emphasized that weapons and pressure on Russia are necessary now, otherwise Putin will continue the war, expanding it.
«We have said before that Ukraine is only the first, and now Russian drones are flying over Europe, Russian operations are spreading in many countries. Putin wants to continue this war. No one can feel safe», — added Zelensky.
He reminded that Europe has already «lost» Georgia and cannot afford to lose Moldova. «Russia is trying to do to Moldova what Iran once did to Lebanon. The world's reaction is insufficient», — Zelensky believes.
Stopping Vladimir Putin and his aggression against Ukraine and other countries is cheaper now, noted Zelensky. According to him, stopping the war and the arms race is cheaper than building underground kindergartens or huge bunkers, hiding critical infrastructure there.
«It's cheaper to stop Putin now than to try to protect every port and ship from terrorists and sea drones. We must act differently together to stop the aggressor. Then we will have a chance that these arms races will not bring us disaster», — Zelensky stated, adding that «the war has already affected too many to pretend that it does not concern you».
