The US President reported that he had a «very productive» phone conversation with the Chairman of the PRC, Xi Jinping, and the parties made progress on key issues, including trade, the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, and the fate of TikTok.
«We also agreed with Xi Jinping to meet at the APEC summit in South Korea, for my visit to China at the beginning of next year, and that Chairman Xi will also visit the United States at a suitable time. The conversation was very successful, and we plan to continue the dialogue by phone. We appreciate the approval regarding TikTok and look forward to the meeting at APEC!» — Trump wrote.
Beijing called the conversation «pragmatic, positive, and constructive». Xi Jinping thanked for the support that the USA provided during World War II, urged Trump to avoid unilateral sanctions, and stated that he wants market rules for TikTok.
