Alexander Lukashenko pardoned 25 people, the state agency «Belta» reported. Among them are those convicted «for crimes of an extremist nature».
A total of 12 women and 13 men were pardoned, 19 people are under the age of 40. Their names are not disclosed.
«Many of them have children, and one convicted woman is a mother of many children. One of the pardoned committed a crime as a minor», — writes «Belta».
In recent months, Lukashenko has pardoned several dozen political prisoners to improve relations with the USA. In June and September 2025, after meetings in Minsk with US President's representatives Keith Kellogg and John Cole, Alexander Lukashenko pardoned more than 60 people, including politician Sergey Tikhanovsky and other well-known political prisoners. All of them were taken from colonies and prisons to the KGB detention center, and then — to the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, from where they were taken to Lithuania without consent.
On September 11, 52 people were pardoned at once, including 14 foreigners. According to the human rights project «Viasna», a total of 436 people have been pardoned over the past year.
