In the Leningrad region, south of St. Petersburg, two locomotives derailed at night and in the morning. According to Governor Alexander Drozdenko, the first incident occurred near Nizovskaya station in the Luzhsky district, and the second near Semrino station in the Gatchinsky district.

Near Gatchina, the driver of the affected single locomotive was trapped in the cabin. He was extracted, but the man died in the ambulance.

The accidents led to delays and cancellations of electric trains and trains, and routes of trains from the Pskov region and Belarus were changed.

On the previous evening, an explosion occurred on the railway in the Maloarkhangelsk — Glazunovka section in the south of the Oryol region. It is reported that the detonation of the explosive device occurred while attempting to defuse it. As a result, three National Guard officers died: two on the spot, and the third in the hospital.

Ukrainian special services announced the conduct of a special operation to complicate railway communication on two railway lines in Russia.
