The former head of the military representation of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, Andrey Tyurin, was detained and arrested in a case of abuses during the execution of the state defense order, the Investigative Committee reported.
According to the investigation, in 2020-2021, the state customer concluded multimillion-dollar contracts with PJSC "United Aircraft Corporation" for the manufacture of electromechanical devices. The responsibilities for monitoring the execution of these contracts were assigned to Tyurin.
"In 2021-2023, Tyurin, abusing his official powers, organized the signing of fictitious documents on the cost and technical characteristics of the specified special products, which did not meet the conditions of the state contract," the investigation claims. As a result, "the contract terms were not fulfilled, causing the Ministry of Defense of Russia a loss of over 40 million rubles."
