Mikhail Kriger was sent to solitary confinement for 15 days, for the third time in the last 2 months, his support group reported. The exact reason for the punishment is unknown.
Additionally, Mikhail and other inmates of IK-5 in the Oryol region cannot respond to letters as they are still not given forms (even though the forms have already been paid for by the senders), Kriger's associates added.
In May 2023, Mikhail Kriger was sentenced to seven years in a penal colony for justifying terrorism and inciting hatred with the threat of violence. According to the prosecution, the activist threatened the lives of FSB officers and called for the execution of Vladimir Putin by hanging. Kriger's associates said that the case was prompted by his posts and comments on Facebook.
According to Kriger himself, he was convicted for his "anti-war, and now openly pro-Ukrainian stance," which he does not hide.
