In occupied Donetsk, security forces detained a man who, it is claimed, was preparing sabotage 'against critical infrastructure facilities', reported RIA 'Novosti' citing the FSB press service.
According to the intelligence service, the man 'proactively' established contact with an SBU representative via Telegram. On the orders of the Ukrainian intelligence services, he was preparing caches with explosives in cemeteries, as well as photographing administrative buildings and critical infrastructure facilities in the cities of the self-proclaimed DPR.
During the detention, FSB operatives seized electric detonators, plastic explosives, and a mechanism for remotely activating an IED from the caches. Criminal cases have been initiated against the man under articles on treason and 'illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation of explosive devices'.
The FSB also reported the detention of a 'Kyiv agent', who allegedly planned to equip a navigation module for UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near a military airfield in Engels. He turned out to be a 35-year-old resident of Volgograd.
According to the security forces, in 2019-2022 he temporarily lived in the Lviv region of Ukraine. After the expiration of his temporary residence permit, he stopped registering with the Ukrainian migration authorities, which is why he 'came to the attention of the SBU' and was recruited to 'commit a sabotage-terrorist act in exchange for obtaining Ukrainian citizenship'.
After undergoing training in Kyiv, the man, on the instructions of his handler, arrived in Volgograd under the guise of returning home, then went to the Saratov region, where he planned to carry out the assignment, claims the FSB.
