Three operating nuclear power plants in Ukraine reduced electricity production this morning following new attacks on the country's energy infrastructure, stated Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

"For the second time in less than two weeks, the Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, and South Ukraine NPPs reduced power levels as a precaution during widespread military actions in the country, while air raid alarms sounded at the three sites," his statement said.

In total, there are nine reactors at the operating NPPs, all of which reduced power. Additionally, one reactor at the Rivne NPP was disconnected from the grid. At the same time, the NPPs continued to receive external electricity, even though the Khmelnytskyi NPP lost connection to two of its power lines.
