His mother reported to the 'Memorial PZK'** project that the student was placed in solitary confinement in Moscow's SIZO-5 for the maximum period for a minor — seven days.

The formal reason for this was his conversation with cellmates after lights out. Along with the teenager, another inmate from the same cell was transferred to solitary confinement. According to Arseniy Turbin himself, he had not been punished for similar actions before. Moreover, when a cellmate beat the student, the SIZO administration took no action against the attacker until Turbin's mother intervened.

After being placed in the detention center, the young man repeatedly reported that he was under pressure and feared for his life.

In June, Turbin was sentenced to five years in a juvenile correctional facility for 'participating in a terrorist organization'; in November, the appellate military court reduced the sentence by 24 days.

According to the prosecution, in June 2023, 14-year-old Turbin, who had 'radical-extremist political views,' wrote to the Legion 'Freedom of Russia' telegram bot and filled out an application to join. During the interview, two FSB operatives convinced the teenager that correspondence with the Legion, recognized as a terrorist organization, was 'normal' and 'not against the law,' and the protocol was falsified.

In the summer of 2023, the student distributed leaflets 'Do you need such a president?' in neighbors' mailboxes. Turbin himself admitted to distributing the leaflets but claims he did it independently and did not join the Legion 'Freedom of Russia.'
