The mother of the deceased serviceman from Lesosibirsk contacted the prosecutor's office due to payments received by his ex-wife. The mother believed that she took her money, writes «Siberian Express». The couple had been divorced almost 10 years ago.
According to the prosecutor's office, the deceased's ex-wife approached the military commissariat as a widow and presented the necessary set of documents. The due amount was distributed among all relatives, with her share amounting to 1.2 million rubles.
«The woman explained that 9 years ago she tried to divorce but did not find out where and when the dissolution would take place. Assuming that since she did not appear in court, the marriage remained valid, — the agency's message states. — However, the prosecutor's office debunked the «legend» by requesting copies of civil cases involving the deceased's ex-wife from the court. It turned out that in 2015 she claimed alimony from him, and therefore was aware of the termination of marital relations».
The Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case on fraud, but the money has not yet been recovered in favor of the mother.
