The Central District Court of Tyumen sentenced 37-year-old Ildar Akhatov to 3.5 years in a colony and a fine of 50,000 rubles for fraud, reported the online publication Neft.
Returning from Ukraine in 2023 after serving in the PMC 'Wagner', Akhatov began engaging in fraudulent schemes: convincing other former war participants that he had connections in the government that could help with obtaining preferential housing. 'An acquaintance from the SVO offers to get to the front of the line for an apartment, and for a 1-room you need to pay 100,000 rubles, for a 2-room — 200,000 rubles, for a 3-room — 300,000 rubles. Then they made payments in parts, transferred from a card', they stated in court.
In total, Akhatov received more than a million rubles. He also took 1.4 million rubles from a large family for help in obtaining an apartment.
Akhatov went to the war in Ukraine from a colony, signing a contract in exchange for a pardon. In 2012, he was sentenced to 15 years in a colony for the murder of student Yulia Litvina, who wanted to break up with him. The man strangled her with an iron cord, tried to pour concrete over the corpse on his balcony, and stole her car. In addition to the actual sentence, he was supposed to pay a million rubles to the mother of the girl he killed, but according to a relative, she never received any compensation from the criminal.
