On the morning of November 21, Russian troops attacked Dnipro with missiles of various types. In particular, an intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation, reported the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Thus, Russia demonstrated the possibility of a nuclear strike, experts from the publication Defence Express concluded, as Russian intercontinental ballistic missiles RS-26 "Rubezh", "Topol" or "Yars" are designed to deliver weapons of mass destruction. And considering that the ICBM with which the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine did not cause "significant consequences", this strike was precisely a demonstration, the publication states.
In addition, a Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" missile was launched at Dnipro from a MiG-31K fighter over the Tambov region of Russia, as well as seven Kh-101 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers over the territory of Volgograd. It is reported that the targets of the attack were enterprises and critical infrastructure.
As a result of the shelling in Dnipro, a building of a rehabilitation center for people with disabilities was damaged, windows were shattered, and the boiler room was destroyed, reported the head of the city, Borys Filatov.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Serhiy Lysak, later reported that a building of an industrial enterprise and nine garages were also hit by the Russian missile strike. According to preliminary information, two people were injured. A 57-year-old man received assistance on the spot, and a 42-year-old woman was hospitalized.
In Kryvyi Rih, it is already known about 15 injured, including two children, nine people were hospitalized. A missile hit an administrative building, and 10 residential buildings were also damaged.
The publication «RBC-Ukraine» reported shelling in the Sumy, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Kyiv regions. Emergency power outages were implemented in the regions.
Air defense destroyed six Kh-101 missiles. As noted by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it was not possible to destroy the "Kinzhal" missiles in the air.
