The Armed Forces of Ukraine used British Storm Shadow missiles for the first time to strike Russian territory, reported Bloomberg.
The pro-military Telegram channel “Two Majors” claims that Ukrainian troops launched 12 British missiles at the Kursk region, two of which were shot down, and their debris was found in the village of Maryino.
According to the Ukrainian site Defense Express, the British missile strike was carried out on the historic estate of the Baryatinsky princes, where the sanatorium of the Administrative Department of the President of Russia is located, equipped with an underground command post. It is claimed that at the time of the strike, high-ranking military officials from North Korea could have been present.
The United Kingdom allowed Ukrainians to use Storm Shadow missiles a week after US President Joe Biden authorized the use of American-made missiles for strikes on Russian territory. Previously, Britain had already allowed Ukraine to use missiles against Russian positions on Ukrainian territory.
American and European officials state that these decisions were made in response to the involvement of North Korean military personnel in the war.
