The mass murder occurred on October 26 in the area of the village of Novopokrovka in the Zaporizhzhia region. The 33-year-old Fedorchenko, with the call sign «Barabash», served in the 2nd assault company of the 38th separate motorized rifle brigade, as indicated in the search notice.
Fedorchenko is from the village of Barabash in the Primorsky Krai. Before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, he had not served in the army and had not participated in combat operations. It is also known that Fedorchenko was imprisoned for intentionally causing serious and minor harm to health. In total, he was sentenced to 4.5 years in a strict regime colony. He served his sentence in Ussuriysk.
