A workshop for weaving camouflage nets for Russian military will be opened at the Higher School of Economics

2024.10.29

The initiator was the pro-military student movement «White Raven», the university's student council was disbanded back in April

Members of the student movement «White Raven», supporting the war in Ukraine, announced that they will open a workshop for weaving camouflage nets for the Russian military at the Higher School of Economics.

«Very soon, everyone will be able to make their direct contribution to the upcoming victory and help save the lives of our servicemen! But first, it is necessary to put in order the premises allocated to us for the workshop», the message says.

The student community «White Raven» was created at the National Research University Higher School of Economics after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine «with the aim of developing patriotism among young people». On the movement's social networks, it is stated that its members are engaged in collecting and delivering «humanitarian» aid for the Russian army, including purchasing drones. Meanwhile, in April 2024, the HSE administration dissolved the student council because its leadership did not include representatives of the «Movement of the First».

After the war began, the university started mass dismissals of teachers with anti-war positions, and the university library was required to remove books by «foreign agents» and texts «promoting LGBT*».

Meanwhile, the HSE opened the Institute of World Military Economy and Strategy, headed by former Pacific Fleet commander Sergey Avakyants, and in July 2024, conspiracy theorist Sergey Glazyev was appointed as a research fellow at the HSE Faculty of Social Sciences.

* The non-existent «International LGBT Movement» is recognized as an «extremist» organization in Russia.
